This winter one of my goals was to improve my silver smithing skills. Most all of my pieces and collections prior to this one have been created primarily using cold connections. That being said this collection was inspired by some of the new techniques I learned this winter along with the beautiful peaceful sunrise walks I was able to enjoy here in Santa Barbara. I used a lot of golden colored gemstones such as citrine quartz and yellow lace agate. I also wanted to stay true to my gold-filled esthetic so I decided to add both precious metals into most of these pieces. Mixing the gold-filled and sterling silver metals was really fun and something very new for me. Due to the handcrafted nature of my work, and the fact that I used a lot of new techniques creating this collection each piece may have small imperfections. Small irregularities in the silver and the stones are part of what I think makes these pieces truly unique and one of a kind. I hope you find joy in these pieces as much as I enjoyed creating them for you.
